Parts of Vermont 116 and Shelburne Falls Road in Hinesburg have reopened after a gas leak Thursday afternoon at the construction site for a new recreational field. The problem occurred when a cement truck cut a corner too closely and hit a valve box, Vermont Gas spokesman Steve Wark said. Gas vented until crews closed valves on either side of the leak, Wark said.

Construction Causes Gas Leak in Essex Junction

Construction workers ruptured a natural gas line on Roscoe Court in Essex Junction Tuesday morning, causing the evacuation of nearby homes. About 15 homes on Roscoe Court and nearby Iroquois Avenue were evacuated.
