No Pipelines!  Action Camp for Climate Justice

June 6th - 9th, 2014
205 Roscoe Road, Charlotte, Vermont

Join organizers and activists from across Vermont for a weekend of workshops and trainings to deepen our collective understanding of the politics of extreme energy and take action to stop the fracked gas pipeline!  With pipeline plans moving forward, it's time to take to the streets and skill up for direct action.  Learn how to plan creative actions from beginning to follow-up; from scouting the target, engaging media, and using a range of blockading skills to defend a livable planet for humans and all beings.

Monday June 9th
Collective action to stop the fracked gas pipeline!

We hope you can clear your Monday morning schedule & stick around for a family friendly direct action to hold Vermont Gas Systems accountable for their plans to build the largest fossil fuel infrastructure project of the last 50 years. 
Logistical Information


Donation: We're asking for $20-50 donations for the action camp to pay for expenses, but no-one will be turned away for lack of funds


Accommodations: There are plenty of camping spots available at the top of the field & in the woods. Please bring your own camping gear!  A few indoor cots are available for people who need indoor accomodations. Off site sleeping arrangements may be available, please register & contact us if you have special needs regarding sleeping accomodations.

Accessibility: Rising Tide Vermont hopes to make this event as accessible as possible.  Please register & contact us with any accessibility needs & we will do our best to meet them.

Ridesharing & Parking:
Parking is VERY limited at the camp site. We will be arranging for shuttle transportation to & from an offsite parking area.  Please plan ahead and carpool. Fill out our rideshare form if you can offer or need a ride!

Child Care:
We will have a kids tent area and can arrange child care & activities if needed. We hope to make this a family friendly event! Please register & be in touch if you would like child care.

From Burlington
Head south on Spear Street into Charlotte
You'll come to a 4-way stop with a blinking red light at the intersection of Spear Street and Hinesburg Road
Keep going south 1.2 miles
Turn left on Prindle Road
Go 2.4 miles
Turn right on Roscoe Road 
Cross the covered bridge (mailbox is in the bridge on the left)
Driveway is IMMEDIATELY on the left after the bridge and parallels the river

From Middlebury (and points south on Rte 7)
Head north on Rte 7
In the center of Charlotte at the stoplight, turn right on Church Hill Road 
At the top of the hill, turn right on Hinesburg Road

Go 1.4 miles and where Charlotte Road takes a sharp turn to the right, go straight onto Baldwin Road
Go 2 miles and turn right on Drinkwater Road

Go 2 miles and our driveway is on the right just before you enter the covered bridge
